yea, maybe choosin and ele/monk was such a good idea on my half. Whenever i team, people want to make me designated healer even though most of them have monk as second profession. Idk, maybe i shulda chose somthin else like a mez or somthin.

There is a HUGE shortage of monks in the game. Especially up in the higher levels. Some monks even charge to go on missions with you.

It is a thankless job. If done well, no one notices. If done poorly, everyone makes a fuss. Tanks charge in and expect monks to just sit backan heal them. Well the 2 troll that got buy are pounding on the ill armored monk and the extra mesmers the tank aggroed are stripping enchantments and interrupting the monks spells. But its the monks fault the tank went down and the party was overwhlemed.

Tanks and nukers are a dime a dozen out there, Monks are a priceless commodity so please everyone: be nice to the monks you meet, praise them if the quest went well and no on went down. Add them to your friends list and tell them you are doing so. Invite them into a guild that repects and appreciates what they do.

Just wait until you get to the ring of fire missions. The hench healers are no longer adequite. You sit in a group with 3 eles a ranger and 2 tanks for an hour begging for 2 monks to join your party. Meanwhile 6 eles and 20 tanks have tried to get themselves invited into your party. Then 20 minutes into the mission somone (usually a tank) messes up and aggros too much; everyone dies and the mission fails. Someone (usually a tank) then swears at the monks not keeping him alive. Believe it or not, the monks then leave for another group and you spend another hour trying to get 2 more monks.

You are exactly right. Maybe I should concentrate more on leveling up my monk to help out with our guild members. Although I will miss Nuking everybody :) But whatever is the best for our guild I am willing to do.
