I think its a great movie I have watched it bout 7 times now and I plan to watch it again tonight.

I've had this movie for about two months now, it is awesome.

at the end of the film when he is facing sephiroth that limit break he did it was so great it looks good too.
also the other thing i really liked was the big GF and when cloud got lift up by everyone else to get to the GF wow it was cool.
the whole movie is great plus i wouldnt mind clouds motobike sweet bike cloud lol.
noone else seen it yet?i say do see it.
its great film and i wish i could make a movie like that.or at least make a game like that well i could always wish for it lol

it was a good movie
i'd give it a 7/10 i'm not impressed easily
i liked when cloud uses omnislash at the end at sephiroth ,the omnislash was a good updated version

Well, I have every single Final Fantasy, including 4-6, which are extremely hard to get and I have defeated all except X-2. But that is only because the whole girl thing is cheesy and hard to really get into it. I am about 50% through it though. Oh yeah, have not tried my xi for online yet either. Argh, spend more money?!? Not too quick to get started on that. I really love part 2 for the Super Nintendo the best and I think part one is the toughest. I would say part 7 if it werent for Knights of the Round Table. Gotta get the black chocobo for that though. Hmmm, maybe I'll play it again.:-D :-D

I saw a translated japanese version of this movie a long time ago when it was first released and I liked it a whole lot better than the version we got. Even the subtitles seemed a bit off to me, but since I don't speak japanese I'll never know for sure. One example is at the end of the one I first saw, cloud says "I pity you who understand nothing..." "There is nothing that isn't important" , which I think was far better than what they released as the official translation: "You just don't understand" "There's nothing I don't treasure". It's something like that anyway, I don't feel like watching the video again to find out. Also, does Tifa actually say "Dilly-dally shilly-shally"? That's got to be the worst line in the movie. In the first version I saw she said "drifting... drifting..." , which was so much better, and made a hell of a lot more sense. But then again, maybe the one I saw was translated incorrectly--but I really don't think so, because the story made sense and wasn't very far off in general from the "official" version.

Anyway, I really preferred the Japanese version to the English one. The voices they picked weren't all that great, and no matter how they tried to fit the words into the characters mouths, those words just lost all sense of emotion to me. Though I had to read the subtitles for the Jap version, at least I got some sense of emotion and character. The English version just didn't work so well for me. I wonder if I'd have felt differently if I'd watched the English one first. Some of the worst character voices by the way were Vincent and Sephiroth. In the Jap version Seph sounded powerful and ominous, something that didn't carry over to the Eng version. Vincent didn't seem to sound at all like he did in the Jap version. He went from sounding like a dark person to some kind of monster.

All that aside, I liked the movie and would have rated it a 9/10 if it weren't for the stupid voices / lame dilly-dally translation. I'd have given it a 10/10 if sephiroth wasn't just wasted so easily at the end. I was expecting another battle with a transformed seph and the rest of the team--especially once I saw that one-wing appear--but that didn't happen. Maybe they're saving it for a "FFVII-2" game, who knows. Still was good though. Because of the stupid voices and everything else though, it's more like a 7/10.

Best line of the Eng version for me was Barret's voice message in Cloud's phone in the beginning where he said "I AM the man". I actually thought there was hope for the voices in the movie. I was wrong.

That was an excellent post "Ghost" and I agree with you, it is worth a 7 or maybe an 8/10 and they could have done a better ending. But overall it is still an awesome movie to watch.:)
