Today is Nintendo Press Conference where they will announce the price of their Wii and the games to be launched with it, also coming with the press conference is new on when it will launch in URO and so forth,
Whilst European's will have to wait for Nintendo's press conference tomorrow in order to find out when the new console (http://www.ferrago.com/story/8200#) will be out, and how much it will cost, those lucky Japanese gamers (http://www.ferrago.com/story/8200#) have been put out of their misery. Earlier today, at a press conference in Tokyo, the Big N revealed that the Wii will launch on December 2nd across Japan, costing 25,000 Yen. That's about 120 GBP, or 175-ish Euros.
At the press conference, Satoru Iwata revealed that sixteen games would be ready for launch, crucially including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We also learned that the Japanese launch would be bolstered by Wario Ware (http://www.ferrago.com/story/8200#): Smooth Moves, Wii Sports, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Elebits, Super Monkey Ball and Red Steel (http://www.ferrago.com/story/8200#). A new Pokemon outing will also be out in December, though we did learn that Super Mario Galaxy has slipped into 2007.
The announcement coincides with a new Japanese website launch, detailing the console and its various unique features. A press conference confirming Nintendo's (http://www.ferrago.com/story/8200#) North American plans will be held later today in New York, but several US newspapers reckon they've got the scoop already, suggesting a launch on November 19th and a price point of 250 USD (which would fit well with the Japanese pricing, its worth noting) i`ll have more updates on this later today.
