Now I'm Irish mind you and my wife tells me I make better stuffed cabbage than her mom who is off the boat from Poland.
First you cook some white rice and put it aside to cool
then you take a large head of cabbage and cut out the spine. Pull off the individual leaves and blanch in rapidly boilin' water.
Take a mixture of ground meats (preferably red), lamb beef pork etc.
Add chopped onions, carrots (minced) whatever seasoning you prefer (I use some Worstershire+ Teriyaki+sesame oil{light on the sesame oil it is very strong} salt, pepper.
Mix these together and add the cooled rice and mix by hand. Take a decent portion depending on the size of yer leaves and roll'em up.
Place them in a shallow baking pan and shov'em in the oven.
I also baste them with a mixture of V8 and brown sugar. Light on the sugar. Serve them up with a frigid pint Bock and watch the smiles.
:-D :) :o
