The game costs $40 new that includes a free month of play and comes with a 10-day guest pass to give to a friend. You dont need the disks after you install it. So, You can pick up the game cheap on ebay.
There is a $15 fee per month, but I think is well worth it. Since, I don't play yugioh much anymore I just funnel that $15 for DPs into this. There also are pre-paid game cards which allow you to play for 2 months. They are $30, but you might be able to find them cheaper on ebay. I seen them go for $25.
The game is awesome. I have played both GW and WoW and I love WoW tons more. I play for like 8 hrs almost every night.
The universe is HUGE. There are tons of different servers and although the game is probably the same on each server. I think the split it up so it wont bog the game down or something. YOu can only interact with ppl on your own server. IF you want to switch servers you can but need to make a new character. I think you can have as many characters as you want, but I'm not sure.
It is also split up into Alliance (Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf) vs the Horde (Orc, Troll, Undead, Tauren). You can also fight in massive battles - Alliance vs Horde. The classes are pretty much the same as any RPG (Warrior, Paladin, Priest, Warlock, Mage, Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman). You also get to chose professions like Miner, BLacksmith, Enchanter, Herbalist, Skinner, some others... There is also Fishing, Cooking, First-Aid.
You can go on quests, do instances or zones for EQ, or just normal xping.
There is PvP and Non-PvP. Also, PvP servers, RP servers, Normal servers.
I have a 10-day pass if anyone wants to try it. I'll also help anyone out if they wanna play too. Just have to play on the server I play on. :)
