Konami announced at its annual Gamer's Day press event today a collector's edition DVD entitled Metal Gear Saga for all those who pre-order Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (hitting store shelves March 14) at retailers. A retelling of the Metal Gear mythos in true do***entary style narration, Saga will feature insightful interviews with creator Hideo Kojima and his staff focusing on the finer details of plot and narration throughout the entire series, as well as never-before-seen concept art, and behind-the-scenes secrets to all the Metal Gear titles.
"It started as just a simple press day presentation covering the history of Metal Gear," says director Ryan Payton from Kojima Productions. "When I pitched the idea to turn this project into a pre-order DVD, Mr. Kojima said 'Sure, go for it.' Then he gave me three weeks to pull it together. Luckily, I had full access to all the talent at Kojima Productions to help me finish the project."

The DVD itself will come with a foil-embossed cover and a deluxe program sheet within. The artwork will, of course, be supplied by series illustrator Yoji Shinkawa. Those who want to get their hands on this little gem should pre-order Subsistence sometime mid-February.

I was catching up on the Playstation Scene and found an interesting article from

http://pspupdates.qj.net/PS3-Delayed-PSP-Revolution-Coming-Soon-/pg/49/aid/10840

[ "On today's PlayStation Business Briefing 2006, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced an upcoming revolution for the PlayStation Portable. There will be tons of new features to be added to this divine object of glory in the upcoming months. A delay to the PS3 release has also been announced officially.

The users will be able to add new exciting functions, such as the Macromedia Flash Player, and will be expanding the current RSS channel function to support streaming and saving internet radio and videos, by updating the System Software of the PSP (the firmware) to the latest version.

New official accessories will also be released this autumn, such as the PSP camera "PSP-300" and the GPS receiver "PSP-290". The users will be able to experience the motion tracing function of the EyeToy, which was originally available on the PS2 by using the PSP camera. With the help of the GPS receiver, you will be able to make use of navigation software to guide your way all over the world.

Sony will be starting a new e-Distribution system for the PSP. You may start to wonder what it is, huh? Well, simply saying - to buy and download games into your memory stick, and run them directly from it!! Bye-bye, loading times... But wait, that is not all the fun you can get from the new service. There will also be an OFFICIAL PlayStation Emulator by Sony itself (PacManFan, don't cry)! Sony will be distributing modified PlayStation/PlayStation 2 games through this system.

Also, the "Ceramic White" PSP will be sold in a normal pack (PSP, 1 battery, power adapter) from April in Japan, at a price for 19,800 JPY (167.8 USD). North American and European users will be able to buy a "Base Model" pack (PSP, 1 battery, power adapter) of the PSP at $199USD/199 Euro. The actually dates are: Europe from March 22, North American from the end of March.

So much for the PSP side, now here is a bad news for the PS3 fans. Sony has officially announced that the release of the PS3 is postponed from this spring to early November of 2006. However, the release of the PS3 will be global - Asia, North America and Europe will be getting the release in the mean time. Sony will be able to offer 1 million consoles per month after the release, to meet the need of the users around the world." ]

Beast here is a game for you. Thought you might be interested in this.

24 The Game
Based on the action-packed television series, 24: The Game is set between seasons two and three of the TV show and provides the answers to several unanswered questions: Who was really behind the assassination attempt on President Palmer? How did Kim Bauer get a job in the L.A. CTU? How did Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds first start working together? Penned by 24 episode writer Duppy Demetrius and voiced by stars Kiefer Sutherland, Carlos Bernard, and Kiefer Sutherland, 24 boasts more than 100 missions told through several branching subplots. Gameplay includes on-foot sections (with shooting, stealth, puzzles, and sniping), driving sequences, interrogations, and technical challenges. The game even uses the unique visual style of the television show with multi-panel windows showing concurrent plot developments.
