Theatrical Version of Gurren Lagann Pre-Announced (Updated)

Official announcement to be made in Newtype magazine on March 10
The exhibitor notes for the media company Kadokawa Shoten at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008 website say that the April issue (on sale on March 10) of Newtype magazine will announce a theatrical version of the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann anime. The exhibitor notes also say that Kadokawa Shoten will show footage from the Wagaya no Oinarisama. and Junjō Romantica television anime that are premiering this April, other television anime that are already running such as Keroro Gunsō (Sgt. Frog), other theatrical works, and various other works. Gainax's original Gurren Lagann robot action televison series ran from April to September of last year.

ADV Films had announced that it would begin releasng the Gurren Lagann television series in North America last month, but Gurren Lagann was one of the titles ADV Films removed from its listings in January. ADV Films is currently working to bring this anime back on its release schedule like it did with most of its other recent titles.
